2016 Nun Run

Both girls joined me for this year's Nun Run, as did Karin. Bobbins was game enough to truck the boys out at that early hour, even though it's getting harder to get us all there. I finished the 10K in 45:33, which was 12th overall ahead of the first place woman. To avoid a repeat of last year losing MM, I stuck with her and JoJo stuck with Karin. MM went the whole way in the 1 mile with some encouragement. JoJo and Karin took a shortcut and went about a quarter mile. You can see Karin and the girls ahead of me (in red shirt) in the picture below at right.

Japanese Festival Downtown

All of us, inc. Karin, hit the Arizona Matsuri (a Japanese festival downtown) at the end of February. Karin met up with her friends while Katie joined us in checking out the booths and people watching. Having Karin live with us gave some of the stuff new meaning, but for the most part it was a walking learning experience. It was abnormally warm. We stopped to eat at a nearby pub rather than wait in a long, hot line for the food booths.
