St. B.'s Fundraiser

Dennis & Rebecca graciously invited us to the St. Bernadette fundraiser this year. They had two extra tickets so we called the Schaefers over too. It wasn't a casino night, but Mexican themed. Food was delicious, some nice wines, and decent auction items. I ended up winning what I put in for, which wasn't really as great as I first thought. But it was called "Boys Will Be Boys" and I got suckered getting it for Booch. Rebecca continued her lucky streak by winning a bike, and each of the ladies took home several of the fake bouqets. All in all a great night.

MM Toothless

Margaret also lost her first two teeth at the beginning of May, her bottom middle teeth. I teased her about getting my pliers, but she was a trooper and pulled them out herself. Being the hoarder she is, she didn't want to put them under her pillow, despite what we told her about the tooth fairy. It took us a couple of days to convince her not to keep them for herself and to give them up to the fairy.

MM Hurting

Margaret's had a tough spell physically recently. At the beginning of May she developed some kind of infection in her big toe, probably from not letting her mom cut it properly. Even the ladies at the pedicure place in Palm Springs wouldn't touch it. Bobbins treated it her witches brews and salt baths, and I was able to cut out the nail, and it seems to be fine now. Then last week, while Bobbins was babysitting, Cell was playing with some coins in a toy dish and accidentally swallowed a nickel. After some googling, I determined she'd be ok and would just have to pass the thing. But it was briefly traumatic for her. I probably didn't help it by saying we'd have to take her to the hospital and the doctors would have to cut her open to get it. I've been trying to check her poop to make sure it comes out, but Bobbins doesn't want to bother, so we'll probably miss it. Would've been a good memento.

Walking Booch

He's officially ambulatory. Just like his sisters, he was 14 months old.

Black Tile Backsplash Demo

Bobbins really disliked the black tile backsplash, so we decided to take it out. Demo is one thing I can do. It took me most of a Saturday. My dad's little dremel-like tool came in real handy for cutting out the grout, then it was just a matter of chiseling the tile off the drywall, much of which came off too.

 

 

 

 

Bike Ride

Uncle Jacopone took JoJo on his motorcycle in April, which she really enjoyed. But she backed into the exhaust pipe and got a nice burn on the back of her left leg. It took about 3 weeks for it to heal. The scar isn't too bad.

Tea with Aunt Gin

To make up for missing her b-day party, Bobbins threw a little tea party for MM at Aunt Gin's, with a huge assist from Aunt Patty. Both girls loved it.

 

PP in Garage

We had Mike & Val and Featha & B over one Sunday in April. Bobbins talked me into setting up the ping pong table. When Featha and I played and Kathryn came out to watch, it set off serious memories of high school at 2897 for all of us. Jacopone, of course, brought his A game. If I wasn't wearing flip flops, I would've beat him. Too cold for the pool but a good time with everyone over. The BBQ'd meat turned out well.

Breaking into 6

Hard to believe, but 1/3 of MM's youth is gone. She turned 6 recently. The worst part was that she was sick with strep throat the whole week. We had to cancel her party and she couldn't go to the D-backs game. She took it in stride, and still got to enjoy treats from mom.
