MM's Baptism Day
We recently celebrated MM's 3rd "birthday in Christ" by renewing her baptismal vows and eating a giant cupcake.

Just the Three of Us
We sent MM to her grandparents' this weekend so we could do a house project (another blog post on that later). She had a lot of fun with them, and we enjoyed having just JoJo. JoJo liked not having to fight for toys, but I think she was lonely. She didn't enjoy a friend's birthday party on Sunday as much without her sis. We were all happy when Uncle Zach (thanks UZ, btw) brought MM home this afternoon. This pieta sculpture is on loan to our church.Wednesday, May 23, 2012

Cabin for Mothers Day - Sun.
We went to St. Joseph the Worker Parish for Mass Sunday morning. Little did we know that it was their First Communion/Confirmation weekend. The church was packed and the Mass lasted 1.5hrs. Even up north it was nearly all Hispanic kids. We ate a breakfast of Bobbins' delicious homemade pancakes, cleaned up the cabin, and set out for Montezuma Well.

I had never been to the well and was reluctant to visit, but am glad we did and thought it very neat. Even though the NPS runs it, it's free.
On the way home we ate at a locally-owned greasy spoon -- burger & fries kind of joint. My Aunt Mel would've loved it. The girls enjoyed their pulled pork quesadilla.

Cabin for Mothers Day - Sat.
After breakfast Sat. morning we drove over to the Bill Williams trailhead west of town. I wanted to trek to the top of the mountain, where you can actually climb the fire observation tower for some great views, but Bobbins and the girls were only up for a couple miles. We picnicked off the trail then headed home.

We're coming back in Dec. to cut this puppy down as our Christmas tree.

We decided to take a different trail down than we had come up. That took us back into Williams instead of to the trailhead, and the two were separated by about 2/3 of a mile. I had Bobbins and JoJo and Olden hang out in the Williams Cemetery while MM and I hiked back to the Sequoia. At one point I wasn't sure if we'd gone the right way. It was a funny Paul moment, like something I would've gotten into with my dad or uncle or Grandpa. Hopefully MM savored it -- because I'm sure it won't be her last...

Later that night we relaxed on the swing before turning in.
