Am Girl Doll Store

The other part of MM's gift was a visit for tea and cupcakes to the Am Girl Doll Store in Scottsdale with her friend Sienna.

7 Party

That night we had dinner and presents for MM. T Fish was already down so he missed the excitement. Her big gift this year, which she earned by not sucking her thumb at night for the 2 months leading up to her b-day, was her own American Girl Doll. They are expensive for just being a doll, but she really wanted one and worked for it. The look on her face was pretty priceless, so it was worth it all the way around.

 

 

 

Breaking Into 7

 

MM had her 7th birthday recently, and did our usual tradition of breaking out of her room. She got to open one present in the morning, and chose Julia's. It was a very pretty dress all the way from Brasil.

Grandma & Grandpa Visit

On their way out of town the Sunday after the SOTH Tournament, Grandma & Grandpa stopped by the house. It was windy and a little chilly.

 

SOTH Tournament 2016

Played in the annual Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church charity golf tournament again this year, out in Fountain Hills. Unfortunately, our organizer, Steve, fell ill and could not make it. Zach very ably stood in his place and made a lot of great shots for us. He also got yelled at for hitting a guy's roof. He had one great drive taken away by the 4some in front of us because it bounced a couple times and hit one of them, a kid, who took the ball and threw it over the road. We found two of their clubs, though, so it evened out.

I hit a great drive on this hole. Had just enough fade to get around that big tree on the right. I'm pretty sure we birdied it with the short approach shot, even though we struggled in that area all day.

San Diego for Work

I had a one day meeting in San Diego last month, so my colleagues and I just drove from Phx. Our office is not far from Mark and Jess, so I hoofed it over there after being dropped off at my hotel. At 4.2 miles it was a little longer than I anticipated, but it felt good to stretch my legs. Great to see Will, Otto, and new Georgia. The meeting was fine enough. My friend Hector took us to Urban Plates for lunch. It was on the high end and full of beautiful California people. I had a steak sandwich (pictured) which was fantastic. After the meeting, we all enjoyed a few pints at the Green Flash Brewery. It was my co-worker's birthday so she really enjoyed it.

Play Day at JoJo's School

Another Saturday I took the three older kids down to Jip's school for a fun sport day in the grass field across the parking lot. AZ Cardinals QB Drew Stanton was there with his designer kids, who also go to the school, sans their mom, which was cool to see, because they have three little ones, including a toddler. I played around with the girls and Booch, who had fun running around to each of the things and taking advantage of the snack tent.
