Since the kids' school was closed, they did their schoolwork at home with us. Owen's class used Google classroom, but the girls' teachers just sent home worksheets, assignments, and textbooks. I was home many of the weeks and worked mostly with Owen. We found a decent rhythm after the first couple weeks. Bobbins made the kids still wear their uniforms. She also eased the burden by collecting the free lunches at the public schools, which were distributing them each morning for pick-up. There was a lot of sugar and junk, and A LOT of milk, but it was "free." This is Owen eating one of the Chinese food lunches.
You can hear JoJo practicing the piano in the background. She's really taken to it. Her, Bobbins, Margaret, and Owen are all taking lessons, but I'd say JoJo shows the most promise.
Owen was one of the house owners who rejected Joseph & Mary, then one of the shepherds who came to adore baby Jesus.
The girls' classes just sang a song each.
Held a little later in November this year, but a success in raising money for the kids' independent school. Sorry the video is sideways, but the main point is to hear the whole school (minus kindergarten) sing "Non Nobis Domine."
In 4th grade they do a play instead of individual presentations. MM's class did the Children of Fatima. Margaret was one of the girls in town.
Owen was St. Michael the Archangel.
Josephine was St. Zita. She got too nervous and barely got half her speech out, but she looked pretty.
Owen started kindergarten! The girls started first. Owen's first actual day was Tuesday. They space the kindergarteners out the first week.
His first Friday, wearing his red tie.
He's all smiles here, but it only took a couple weeks before he started complaining about having to get up so early.
He was really tired every day, of course. He'd fall asleep every time on the ride home.
His favorite part of school is recess and playing soccer and other games with all the kids.
Really missed having Sean out there. He's played in the school fundraiser tournament every year. I got our #2 in command from work, Dan, to fill in for Sean. Dan carried us. Kevin also joined us. We didn't light anything up but had a fun time out at Gainey Ranch.
Ms. Arend, the girls' favorite teacher, who teaches 2nd grade, came by after to see the new baby.
They didn't do a ton this year, just the kids singing some songs. Bobbins did a tremendous job getting the girls ready, including their hair. They looked fantastic. Margaret got stuck in the back, so no photos of her. JoJo was nervously shy & smiley. Really nice evening to see everyone together and all the schoolchildren. The school is getting really big!
The girls and Aunt Katie joined several families and kids for a hike up A Mountain organized by Ms. Arend.
MM in 3rd grade, JoJo in 2nd.
Assembled the usual guys for my foursome this year, and we did quite good, aided especially by string, which saved us a couple strokes on the par 5's. You would think a 57 would win the tournament, but I think we finished in 4th. It was a great time out with the guys.

Don't ask me what they were doing, but I believe that's her teacher in the middle, being wrapped in tp. The girl in the black cowboy hat with the funny face is Nina.
For the first day of spirit week at school, the girls got to dress up as their favorite fictional character. MM went as ____ and JoJo as Lucy from the Narnia books. These are class pic's (MM on top) but you can make out the girls.
For All Souls Day this year, the girls' school took a field trip to St. Francis Cemetery to pray for our beloved dead. MM's and JoJo's classes both prayed over the grave of their Uncle Jack (and cousins Christo & Bear).
This is my favorite event of the school year, but unfortunately I had to miss it for work. Bobbins at least got decent videos. She did a great job on their costumes. Very proud of these little saints in the making.
Like she did with JoJo, Bobbins hooked up with her friend Mary to homeschool preschool Owen with one of Mary's kids, although this time there's two other kids & moms involved, which helps with rotating hosting house but is more kids. Owen is doing well and learning.
