Our Old Fort

Got to see our old fort one last time. This is the playset we built at our old house and gave to our friends in early 2015. They sold their house and moved to southern California. Hopefully the fort will be put to good use by the new owners.

Boys Will Be Boys

School Talent Show

The girls' school had its talent show at the beginning of April. MM, not surprisingly, wanted to perform and decided on singing one of her favorite songs, "Fully Known" by JJ Heller. She would be on a stage in front of the whole school, which did not daunt her. [Obviously she takes more after her mom than dad in the personality department.]

Yes, Bobbins and I were quite proud and teary-eyed.

Our carpool buddies did a traditional Polish dance, in Polish dress, that was neat.

Another family did a great lip sync of songs that reflected their car ride to school every morning.

MM's classmate Abby did a cool ventriloquist act with her twin cousins, who brought Abby (the doll) onto the stage in a suitcase.

2017 SOTH Tournament

My dad, Uncle Jack, and I ventured out to Fountain Hills again this year to play in the Shepherd of the Hills charity golf tournament. This year's iteration was on Holy Saturday in April. The tendons in my arms hurt a lot from squeezing PVC pipe together, so I started slow and in pain, but some Advil from Uncle Jack's bag cleared that up. For as well as we played, our score of 4 under wasn't anything to be ashamed about. Afterward, there was great home-made food in the church hall.

Artificial Wombs

Obviously it's a ways off, but this seems like a huge development to me. There's the positive side of saving premature babies from dying, but I tend to see more clearly the negative implications. A sexless society is the Left's dream, and removing reproduction from women's bodies would be one giant step in that direction. Brave New World, here we come.

Busted Toe

Against my advice, Bobbins went out at night to hang some new towel hooks on the patio. As she was screwing one in, it fell out and plummeted toward her toe, striking the nail perfectly, pretty much destroying it. The pain was so much she started crying, which made the girls start to cry. They brought her holy cards and a crucifix to help her, which was quite sweet.
