Meanwhile, the Boys up in Bullhead
Grampy and Swamper graciously agreed to watch the boys up in Bullhead while we were in NYC. It was a blast for them, of course.

Monday in NY
We both slept in Monday morning since I didn't have to start work till the afternoon. Bobbins toured the Tenement Museum, then we met up at Washington Sq. (near NYU) to enjoy the unusually warm weather. We ate at a greasy New York City spoon diner (think the orgasm scene in When H Met S) nearby, then headed home.

9/11 Memorial & Museum, Ferry to Staten Island
After Mass, our next stop was the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, which are both very well done. There is a sense of peace at the Memorial, but also a tremendous sense of loss. Where the two towers had stood are what appear to be bottomless holes where the water flows. The Museum really captures the feel and sounds of that day. Technology was so much simpler, air travel so much easier. The human tragedy of the day is made very vivid. Since there's so much video and audio of the event you can re-live the trauma. Which is good, I suppose, so that we never forget, and never let it happen again. We got Bobbins a wheelchair which made her life a lot easier since it's a big museum.
We had lunch at this restaurant, which I ate at in Belgium and will always hold a special place for me. (Ask me why sometime.) Neat to see that it had jumped the pond to America. Not very cheap though.
It was Sunday afternoon and there weren't many ferries/tours to the Statue of Liberty, so we opted to take the free ferry to Staten Island. It doesn't really go near the Statue but you can see it well enough, and you can't beat the price.

To New York
I had to go to New York City for work, so I took Bobbins along for the week since all we had to do was pay for her airfare. The hotel and food was all taken care of. Even though she was 34 weeks pregnant, we decided to go for it. What a trip! I wish I had been able to do more sightseeing with her. We took a red-eye Sat. night and arrived early Sunday morning. We went to Mass at St. Peter's Parish right by our hotel. This church figured largely in 9/11 but was also where St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and Ven. Pierre Touissant attended.
We stayed at the Millennium Hilton, right by the former World Trade Center. This was the view from our room, which was humbling and sobering.

JoJo's First Confession
Bobbins took JoJo down to Church for her first Confession, then to ice cream after.
This is one of her reflections from school:

A Sweep
Yes, that's right, the Sun Devils swept the Wildcats in all three major sports this last season: winning the Territorial Cup, both basketball games, and the overall baseball series. GO DEVILS! To commemorate the occasion, I snapped this photo at work for my UofA co-worker.
