This floaty was Fisher's years ago, from Take, but we've held on to it and it's somewhat handy for the little guys. Fisher liked it but Edward hated it. Christo was somewhere in the middle.

Swim Lessons

 

With the city pool shut down, Bobbins and fellow moms organized swim lessons at our house, which worked out pretty good.

To Palm Springs

For our annual trip with Bobbins' family, we went back to Palm Springs to the same place a few years ago. Unfortunately, none of Bobbins' siblings could make it, except Mike for one day, so it was just us and the grandparents the whole week.

Resort Pool Day

Bobbins took the older kids with Abby, Mikey, and Anna to a resort for the afternoon.

We also had a little celebration for someone's birthday.

Length of the Pool

Owen had wanted to go swimming with his sisters by himself all summer, but he wasn't quite ready. He kept asking and asking. I told him if he could swim the length of our long pool by himself, without any help, he would then be ready. Well, that little booger worked on it and built his lung strength and went for one day in the middle of August. Nevermind that he can't quite tread water or float on his own yet. He earned it. I won't get father of the year (again), but a deal's a deal.

2017 Swim Lessons

The kids did swim lessons at the city pool on Cactus, with their friends. The girls are getting a little old but need to go with their brothers.

Swim Play Date

What a swim play date looks like when Bobbins has a few of her mom friends over.

Head Floaty

Our former Japanese exchange student sent us a package out of the blue, and one of the things in it was a head floaty for the little boys. Baby Jack did not care for it much (top left photo), but Fisher loved it. He took right to it without a hiccup and pushed himself all over the pool.

 

August Birthday Bash

Held at the Froehlichs this year, instead of the Schaefers.

 

 

Booch in the Pool

Bobbins took all 4 kids to swimming lessons this year, even though the girls didn't really need it. She managed to get Booch into a big kids swimming class despite his age & small size. She already had Fish and couldn't handle both boys in the baby class. You can see this in the first part of the video (the longest, btw). Part 2, him flying out of the slide, is pretty funny. Part 4, where he jumps off a huge ledge, is fun.

Pool

The cold water didn't stop the girls from jumping in the pool in April. It's fun to see them using it and enjoying themselves.

Really impressed JoJo made it the whole way.  She always imitates her sister, which isn't always bad, I guess.  Not sure why Bobbins was so afraid of JoJo doing it.

How to Earn a Dollar

The other day the girls really wanted to go swimming, so Bobbins told them they could when Dad got home, thinking that it would be too cold and they would not really get in.  Well, of course they did.  They were in their suits waiting when I walked in the door, and over to the neighbors we went.  The girls got right in to their waists and started playing.  I told them to jump and swim, but MM protested that it was too cold.  I told her I'd give her a dollar if she jumped in and swam from one end to the other.  Without hesitation, she hopped out, ran to the side, jumped in and swam to the other side where I was waiting.  It was a moment of pride for both her and I.  She ran in to tell her Mom of her feat, then collected her earnings.
