Devils Lost to the Better Team this Time

Stayed in Sat. afternoon to watch the Sun Devils take on the Oregon State Beavers in Corvallis, Oregon.  I knew it'd be a close game and Oregon State would play tough, having lost to two very good teams (Boise St. and TCU) by not much.  As it turned out, they clearly were the better team.  Not necessarily the more talented team, but the more disciplined and focused team, two features this Dennis Erickson squad sorely lack.  ASU QB Steven Threet didn't get much help from his O line, but that 4th quarter interception in the endzone was all on his hands.  I can't believe Burfict didn't get thrown out of the game for head-butting the Beaver quarterback.  That guy just can't avoid controversy and 15-yard penalties.  The other team, their fans, and the referees are all gunning for him, it's obvious.  What a shame he doesn't see it and can't control himself, or that the coaching staff can't control one of their own players.  About the only bright spot for ASU was a blocked punt and some nice runs by Deantre Lewis and Cameron Marshall.  Otherwise, they failed to make any plays, especially on defense, while Oregon State in the mantle of Jacquizz Rodgers showed them what playmaking was all about.
