San Diego: Sunday Morning

I popped over to Subway for breakfast, which was surprisingly good.  Not quite as tasty as Mickey D's but healthier, I suppose.  MM enjoyed her egg flatbread sandwich.

Bobbins' iphone told us there was a Catholic church only two miles away, and that Mass was at 9am, so we casually left the hotel at 8:35.  We began our way up the hill per the directions only to be quickly confounded by a series of one-ways and dead-ends.  The time and bickering increased.  We finally pulled into the parking lot at 9:15 and rushed to the front door.  The church was empty.  Mass wasn't until 9:30.  God's funny like that.  For being SoCal, the Mass was refreshingly 'normal' and uplifting.  A guy in the pew down from Bobbins had a seizure and she called 911, but then the guy disappeared.  We tried MM in the toddler care but she couldn't do it.  She loves her mama and hates not being with her.  We'll have to fix that soon enough.

On top of the mountain next to the church was a sweet veterans memorial with a huge white cross.  We had to take a look.  MM went up and down the stairs all by herself.  She only fell at the end, giving her head a good conk on the bricks.
