What the Church Needs to Do in the War

Our bishop has been talking about the spiritual war we are currently engaged in, and helpfully provided a 5 part plan to do battle in the Catholic Sun.  Our pastor has been talking about it too, and we now say the prayer  to St. Michael the Archangel after every Mass.

Along those lines, this powerful column has some good advice for the American bishops in general:

"An age of martyrdom approaches quickly. We can hear its footsteps, and they are jackboots, pounding. Stop taking the government money, close down the bureaucracy, and preach the Gospel—all of it, even the unpopular parts."
