Charity Dinner
After B's wedding, we got dolled up, left the girls with their aunt & uncle, and took off for Scottsdale for the 1st Way Pregnancy Center in Phoenix. The OB who delivered MM and Josie spoke briefly as the Center's practicing doctor. I already posted about the main speaker, Dr. Clenard Childress. A number of Bobbins' friends from the moms group attended with their husbands. The food was phenomenal and the talk inspiring. We plan to donate and I recommend it to you as well.

Highlights from B's Wedding
Diamonds are a girls friend
Whether sparkly or not girls look good in diamonds.
My crafty blog friend came across this peasant dress tutorial and it being so easy I had to try it. Off to the fabric store for new fabric! Well I found the same fabric she used and it was just too cute to pass up. I added the ric rac to make it "my own".

Two Points
- I thought Peggy Noonan's column last week about the election was pretty good, especially this point: negative ads became boring, unpersuasive. Forty years ago they were new, exciting in a sort of prurient way. Now voters take for granted that politicians are no good, and such ads are just more polluted water going over the waterfall. The biggest long-term loser: liberalism. If all pols are sleazoid crooks, then why would people want to give them more governmental power to order our lives? The implicit message of two generations of negative ads: Vote conservative, limit the reach of the thieves.
- We attended a charity dinner Sat. night (Bobbins should put pictures up soon) at which Dr. Clenard Childress was the featured speaker. He made the provocative and in my estimation accurate point that the pro-life movement is the civil rights movement of the 21st century. Not that it should really matter, but Dr. Childress is a black Christian pastor. He cited MLK and the bible, of course, but also the Founders and Mother Theresa. Very inspiring talk.

Sneak preview of the big reveal
On the Suzy and Kim Show!
I have been working on changing Doug's old office into a new room for the girls and possibly other future children. Yes, it is sad Doug has lost all his space in the house and has been forced to move outside to his work bench. His space is getting smaller and smaller so I hope he does not think we are trying to boot him out. We still love you daddy and need you around to do hair and tea parties.
I was inspired to recover the glider chair after our visit to OK. After a third time I found the right paint color. I am not sure why I continued to paint the room knowing I didn't not like the color. I suppose I thought it will change. Well, it didn't and you would have never known I painted the room if it did not smell like a freshly painted room. Who picks the same color twice? I am just in love with the color and all the upcoming changes, chair rail and shelving.

the sharpest crayon in the box
In September I was up on my game and started making the girls Halloween costumes. Thank goodness because October 31st came all too quickly.
On Saturday our neighborhood had a little shindig down the street, the local business' put on a trunk or treat, so this was our actual first trick or treat. Marcelly was able to pick up on the candy aspect real quick which was reassurance that she was indeed our child. Her first piece of candy was placed in her bag and immediately she pulled it out saying "nummy nummy nummy" meaning open. So here after it was hard to get her bag full as she kept wanting to eat all that was given to her. She ended up sitting down in the lot and basically putting her head in the bag spilling the candy out over her. By the end of the first night she was getting the hang of opening her bag and saying thank you.

On actual Halloween we took a trip over to our friends house and ate dinner and tricker treated in their neighborhood. Which was very full of children and pumpkins. We had a great time! Marcelly was quite a hit in her crayon costume. Although I am not sure which wow'd people more her crayon or her Victoria's secret candy collecting bag. It matched so I thought it was perfect not really thinking it was any big deal, it WAS!
