Annual Beach Trip

We headed back to Solana Beach, CA, this year in August courtesy of my mom and Steve, in the same condo we had last year.  A little tighter with the addition of Owen, who also made relaxing on vacation a little harder, but we all had a great time.  Owen in his p-n-p started out in the laundry room but eventually made his way to our upstairs bathroom.  It was a little hotter this year (no a/c in the condo.)

MM's First Day of School

It really is true, they "grow up so fast."  We were all excited for MM's first day of transitional kindergarten, a one-hour orientation on a Friday.  She started for real the Tuesday after Labor Day.  MM was most excited and went right in, barely saying goodbye to her mom and sister.  [TK has a curriculum but isn't a full day, so that if the child does well at the end of the year, he/she can go right into first grade, or can go into a regular kindergarten.]

4th of July

We spent the morning of the 4th enjoying our 2nd Amendment rights shooting.  Clint set up a sweet target and we went to town.

We also shot clay pigeons, which was a lot of fun.  Bobbins and Mavis couldn't quite get the hang of it but kudos to them for trying.

We then went swimming in Aunt Mel's awesome above-ground pool and had her delicious tacos for dinner.

Finally, we watched fireworks from Mavis's front yard while shooting off her own, most of which Clint found for free at the dump.  The neighbors put on a semi-professional show which was great to watch from the comfort of our own home.

OK Lake Day

Mavis and Clint were kind enough to break out their waverunners and we headed over Lake Hudson east of Pryor.  It was Bobbins and I, our kids, Mavis and Clint, their kids, Aunt Mel, Kathryn, and AnnaKendall.  I had some fun rides around the lake, including a long one with D Shea.  MM for some reason didn't like riding, even with her calm dad, and really didn't like riding on Big Mabel.  JoJo, surprisingly, seemed to enjoy Mabel with the other girls and Aunt K.
