Vets Day Hike, Dinner

We celebrated Veterans Day like last year, getting out to enjoy this beautiful country of ours. We met Zach in Superior to hike to the old Claypool Tunnel. This was a tunnel dug by prisoners for Hwy 60 from Phoenix to Globe and was in use until the 1950s. A long stretch of the old road, including an old bridge, is preserved, so it's a fairly easy hike. You also walk under one of the 1950s bridges. Though the tunnel is marred by graffiti, it ended up being a fantastic time. We even lost Baby Jack's pacifier and found it on the way back down, thanks to St. Anthony.

After the hike we drove over to Zach's apartment to check it out. It is a nice little place. That's Baby Jack trying out Zach's Tonka truck. It's right near Holy Angels Church, one of my favorite churches in Arizona. We stopped there, of course, and also the antique store where Zach pays his rent. Bobbins stayed at the apartment to rest. We then had dinner at DeMarco's, the same place Bobbins and I ate at on our "babymoon" in January 2014. Lo and behold, we once again ran into Fr. Arnold (the pastor of Holy Angels) and said hello.
